This project was turning an old fitness center into a church. All the old flooring was removed and old electrical trenches filled in. The floor was diamond ground to remove all old remnants of flooring materials. All cracks were filled and patching was done. The floor was then polished to an 800 grit level, densified and then a stain protectant sealer was applied.

A continuation of the Truck Dock Canopy project that was completed in 2014. The underside consisted of cleaning via pressure washing to remove dirt and contaminants. Followed by mechanically abrading all rusted areas. All areas were primed with a coat of high solids, rust-inhibitive, penetrating epoxy primer followed by an application of an exterior acrylic dry fall.

The project involved a new auxiliary gym that was constructed next to the main gymnasium of the high school complex. The project involved painting multi-color graphics on the auxiliary gymnasium walls along with painting stenciled letters for the entrances to restrooms and the main gymnasium.

The project consisted of painting the ceiling and walls of an existing warehouse area. Prior to painting the walls and ceilings, all areas were thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt and contaminants. After protecting the floor and adjacent manufacturing areas, all painting was completed.

Stripping, cleaning, and re-staining of the existing wood beams at the visitor’s entrance to Bells Brewery. The project included the need for a detailed safety plan and the use of a 125′ boom lift to complete the work
Pioneer Construction

The addition of an 8 1/2 acre roof deck to the parking structure at the Gerald R Ford International Airport. The work included sandblasting every weld on the entire structure and coating the welds with galvanized paint. All of the finished products needed to be tested by an independent agency to ensure the specified product mils were achieved. A detailed work plan was required to make sure schedules and testing requirements were met.

Renovations and additions to Grandville Cummings Elementary in Grand Rapids included repainting of many existing areas along with four new classrooms and a new gymnasium. H & H Painting applied electrostatic paint to existing lockers and installed graphic wallcovering.

Reconstruction and renovation project at Maple Street Magnet School for the Arts in Kalamazoo included upgrades to the gym, lobby, locker rooms, and computer lab. H & H panting helped solve existing coating failure on the ceiling and surface prep of glazed wall tile in the gym with accent colors which resulted in an outstanding reconstructed gym for KPS.

Renovation and additions to Quincy Public Schools included locker rooms, a fitness area, bathrooms, and an auxiliary gymnasium. H & H Painting pressure washed and stained the exterior of the aux gym with a color band. We also installed a decorative mosaic floor system & cove base over existing ceramic tile, existing concrete & new concrete.

H & H Painting renovated the existing lobby, ballroom, meeting rooms, and corridors of the Radisson Plaza Hotel. We utilized multiple types of wallcoverings including a glass bead wallcovering. The existing wood trim was repainted and refinished.

H & H Painting contributed to the construction of the new Meijer store in South Haven. Work included pressure washing the entire exterior precast concrete building prior to painting. The exterior precast is stamped to look like brick and has 2 colors to complete the appearance. Painting of the interior exposed ceiling required a very compressed schedule. H & H completed this portion of work by applying more than 2,500 gallons of paint in five days. Interior walls were painted with multi-color graphic accent striping.

H & H Painting primed and painted carbon steel piping and structural steel within the grain handling area at Bell’s Brewery in Galesburg. The 2013 project also included color-coding piping.

The project entailed sandblasting of failing paint and rusted steel to provide a sound metal surface followed by priming of the bare steel with Kem Kromile Primer and (2) topcoats of Industrial Enamel Urethane.

This project involved the construction of 75,000 square foot, 3 story building that houses KVCC’s nursing, EMT, and respiratory care programs along with housing the Culinary Arts program, a student-run restaurant, and a teaching brewery.
This project was on a very tight schedule and involved painting exposed ceilings, walls, and structural steel in a 70’ tall atrium, painting of steel columns and guardrails, multiple accent paint colors throughout the building, electrostatic painting of steel posts in the demo kitchen, and painting of a lot of exposed ceiling areas throughout the building.

This project involved complete removal of a 10 year old semi-transparent stain finish that had been faded away and the wood had turned gray from weathering. The stain was removed with Sherwin Williams Superdeck Stain and Sealer Remover and the wood fence was then treated with Superdeck Revive to restore the wood to original color and to neutralize the stain and sealer remover. Once all prep work was complete the fence was then treated with (2) coats of Sikkens Cetol Log and Siding Stain.

Prepping, cleaning, and refinishing a fiberglass entry door and sidelights that had been faded and worn off from the sun and other weather conditions. After the door was properly prepped and cleaned it was stained with Old Masters Gel Stain custom-mixed onsite to match as close as possible to the original stain color followed by (2) coats of Helmsman Spar Urethane Satin Exterior Varnish.

Prepping and electrostatic painting steel deck posts in the demonstration kitchen at the new Culinary Arts building. These posts were power coated at the factory and they were damaged during installation and through the construction process. We were able to save a large expense to the project by electrostatic painting the posts in place with a two-component epoxy and providing a finish that was comparable to the original powder coat finish.
